Today marks the commencement of the Teachers’ Training Workshop on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Meru County.

This workshop is crucial for educators, as they play a pivotal role in promoting conservation education in schools.

The training will provide teachers with essential knowledge and skills in ESD, as well as help them understand their role in establishing successful Wildlife Clubs in schools.

Key Objectives of the Training:

  1. Equip teachers with knowledge and skills in Education for Sustainable Development.
  2. Clarify teachers’ roles in forming and leading Wildlife Clubs within schools.

Wildlife Clubs Collaboration and Support for Kenya’s Conservation Efforts

The Wildlife Clubs of Kenya expressed pride in supporting the Wildlife Research and Training Institute (WRTI) of Kenya in launching their new Strategic Plan.

Through this plan, WRTI aims to enhance the country’s conservation workforce by developing a comprehensive National Wildlife Training Agenda.

This aligns closely with the Wildlife Clubs’ mission to foster conservation efforts in the country.

The Wildlife Clubs have committed to supporting several key initiatives of the Strategic Plan, which include:

  • Supporting various training programs
  • Engaging their extensive network in collaborative conservation efforts
  • Helping young conservationists connect to valuable opportunities
  • Contributing to the successful implementation of the Strategic Plan

Through WRTI’s holistic approach, Kenya’s wildlife conservationists will be better equipped to safeguard the country’s natural heritage for future generations.
