Kids Athletics (8-11 Years)

This category focuses on introducing young learners to basic athletic skills in a fun and engaging way.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics activities are included to enhance coordination, flexibility, and overall physical fitness among primary school learners.

Track Events (Primary)

The following track events will be held for boys and girls across various distances:

  • 100M
  • 200M
  • 400M
  • 800M
  • 1500M
  • 3000M
  • 2000M Walk Race
  • 4 x 100M Relay
  • 4 x 400M Relay
  • 4 x 400M Mixed Relay

Field Events

Athletes will compete in the following field events:

  • Long Jump
  • High Jump
  • Triple Jump
  • Discus
  • Shot Put
  • Javelin

Cross Country

Cross country events will take place for the following age categories:

  • U12 Boys – 1200M
  • U12 Girls – 1200M

KPSSA JUNIOR SCHOOLS TERM ONE ACTIVITIES

Swimming

Swimming competitions will feature multiple styles and relay events, including:

  • 100M Individual Medley
  • 100M Breaststroke
  • 100M Butterfly
  • 100M Freestyle
  • 100M Backstroke
  • 50M Butterfly
  • 50M Breaststroke
  • 50M Freestyle
  • 50M Backstroke
  • 100M Medley Relay
  • 100M Freestyle Relay
  • 200M Freestyle Relay
  • 200M Medley Relay

Team Sports

  • Rugby 7s
  • Basketball 5×5

Track Events (Junior)

Junior school track events include:

  • 100M
  • 200M
  • 400M
  • 800M
  • 1500M
  • 3000M
  • 5000M
  • 3000M Walk Race
  • 100M Hurdles (Girls)
  • 110M Hurdles (Boys)
  • 400M Hurdles
  • 2000M Steeplechase
  • 4 x 100M Relay
  • 4 x 400M Relay

The junior school field events include:
