St. Joseph’s Kirandich Secondary Teaching Jobs

The Catholic Diocese of Nakuru (CDN) – St. Joseph’s Kirandich Secondary School seeks to hire a highly competent, visionary, result-oriented, and well-rounded individual for the position of Deputy Principal. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in any of the following subject combinations:

Mathematics/Chemistry/Physics/Business Studies

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deputize the Principal in all administrative and operational capacities.
  2. Initiate new ideas and programs to enhance teaching and learning in specialized subjects.
  3. Guide new teachers and teacher trainees regarding their duties, institution rules, and culture.
  4. Ensure optimal utilization of allocated resources for training and learning.
  5. Maintain discipline among teachers, non-teaching staff, and learners to foster a conducive learning environment.
  6. Supervise the interpretation and implementation of the curriculum by ensuring the preparation of schemes of work, lesson plans, and other professional documents.
  7. Assist the Principal in supervising teaching and non-teaching staff.
  8. Keep records of meeting proceedings and serve as the secretary during staff meetings.
  9. Chair Heads of Departments’ meetings and Discipline Committees.
  10. Maintain records of staff and learners, including attendance, leave management, and disciplinary cases.
Teaching Responsibilities:
  • Teach subjects within the area of specialization, imparting knowledge and skills to learners.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant school administration experience.
  2. Possession of at least a Diploma in Education (with two teaching subjects) or its equivalent.
  3. Attainment of a minimum grade of C+ (plus) in the two teaching subjects at the KCSE level.
  4. Proficiency in using ICT within the learning environment.
  5. Registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and possession of a valid teaching certificate.
  6. Recommendation Letter from Parish Priest or Pastor.

  • Have a proven track record of handling a candidates class with excellent results.
  • Provide a Recommendation Letter from the Parish Priest or Pastor.
