Three Girls in Narok Sit KCSE Exams in Hospital After Giving Birth.
In Narok County, three girls are sitting for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams in hospital, having given birth just hours before the examination began.
Narok County Education Director, Apolo Apuko, stated that the girls are from St. Antony’s Secondary School in Narok East Sub County, Namnyak Girls in Narok West, and Chepkoiyet Secondary in Trans Mara East Sub County.
Despite their situation, Apuko assured that the girls are in stable condition and participating in the examinations under stringent supervision, similar to their peers in school.

He highlighted the importance of community support for all candidates during this crucial examination period.
Apuko emphasized the role of educational stakeholders in providing a conducive environment for the exams and appealed to the public to stay away from school premises.
“Our role as education stakeholders is to ensure the exam is done in a conducive environment and the children sit for the right exam at the right time. We ask all members of the public to support us by keeping off from the school premises,” he requested.
Apuko revealed that approximately 17,300 candidates are sitting for this year’s KCSE exam in Narok County, with 16,500 enrolled in public schools and 855 in private institutions.

The county has more male candidates, with 9,500 boys compared to 7,800 girls. The candidates are taking the exams across 196 centers.
