TSC Begins Nationwide Workload Analysis and Skills Audit for Secretariat Employees
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has initiated a workload analysis and skills audit assessment for all Secretariat employees nationwide.
In alignment with the Commission’s Strategic Plan 2023-2027, specifically the Institutional Capacity and Corporate Governance pillar, TSC aims to enhance employee motivation, welfare, and wellness.
One of the key objectives is to promote and implement employee productivity through workload analysis and skills audits, aiming to determine the optimal workforce and improve job satisfaction.
A memo dated June 19, 2024, signed by TSC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Nancy Macharia and addressed to all secretariat staff, outlined the process.
The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) officers at the headquarters and counties will assist employees with the digital divide in participating in the survey.
The system for the survey, accessible at https://erp.tsc.go.ke:9595, opened on June 21 and will remain open for 10 days, closing on June 30, 2024. The commission requested that secretariat staff respond to the questionnaire diligently and objectively.
Dr. Macharia stated that the exercise aims to collect data on skills inventory and compute the number of hours employees spend on various tasks per day, week, month, quarter, and year.
This assessment is intended to identify the variance between employees’ skills and the requirements outlined in the career progression guidelines.
The survey’s objectives are:
- Collect skills inventory
- Compute workload hours per employee
- Identify variances between current skills and career progression requirements
