TSC Dismisses Fake News on Finance Bill Impact and Teacher Payments

In response to recent misinformation circulating online, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has clarified statements attributed to CEO Nancy Macharia regarding the Finance Bill 2024.

The commission emphasized that claims suggesting 100,000 teachers would not be paid in July due to the bill’s non-passage are entirely false.

On it’s social pages, the Teachers Service Commission marked the news as fake. The commission encourages the public and media outlets to verify information through official sources to prevent the spread of misinformation.

This comes as the future employment prospects of 46,000 intern teachers hang in balance following President William Ruto’s decision to retract the contentious Finance Bill 2024.
