TSC Extends Minet Kenya’s Contract for Teachers’ Medical Insurance: Coverage Benefits by Job Grades.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has renewed Minet Kenya Insurance Brokers Limited’s contract to provide medical insurance for teachers for another two years.
This decision followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders. Minet Kenya, which leads other service providers, has been administering the medical cover since December 1, 2022, under the same benefits package now extended to teachers and their dependents.

Despite these variations, some benefits remain uniform across all grades. Teachers will continue to access flat-rate dental and optical covers valued at Ksh45,000 and Ksh60,000, respectively.
Maternity benefits range from Ksh120,000 for Job Grade B5 to Ksh300,000 for Job Group D5, with a last expense cover capped at Ksh300,000 for all grades.
