TSC Reveals 13 Newly Appointed County Directors

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has released the list of successful candidates for 13 director positions that will be assigned to regional and county offices.

The selection process involved interviews with over 50 Sub-County Directors (SCD) and Deputy Directors, who had applied for the available positions. The chosen candidates will now be promoted from job group P to R.

A significant number of the successful candidates include those currently serving as deputy directors at TSC headquarters, as well as others stationed in the field.

Promotions from the Field

• Milton Oyugi: Currently serving as the Kericho County TSC Director.
• Erick Magak: Presently the Vihiga Deputy Director.
• Carol Nandi: Currently serving as the Migori Deputy Director.
• Everlyne Chemjor: The current Tongaren SCD in Bungoma County.
• Catherine Nairoshi: The Kikuyu SCD in Kiambu County, previously a public relations officer at TSC headquarters.

Promotions from Headquarters

• Peter Njeru: Serving in the Staffing Directorate.
• Fredrick Mwaniki: Also part of the Staffing Directorate.
• Cecilia Nyawira: Stationed at the Teacher Professional Development (TPD) Directorate.
• Kioko Daniel: Currently with the Discipline Department.
• Evans Esese: Serving in the Integrity Division.
• Dr. Catherine Warui: From the TPD Directorate.
• David Mukui: From the Discipline Department, previously a County Director of Machakos.
• Fatuma Mursal: From the Research and Innovation Unit.

Background on the Positions

In February, the TSC advertised 13 positions of Deputy Director-Teacher Management at TSC Job Grade 5, created through the adoption of the new Career Progression Guidelines (CPG) for Secretariat staff.

Benefits and Contract Details

Appointed individuals will have a 5-year renewable contract and will receive the following benefits:

• Basic Salary: Between Ksh192,782 to Ksh288,051
• House Allowance: Ksh50,000
• Commuter Allowance: Ksh16,000
• Annual Leave: 30 days per calendar year.
