TSC Revised Salary Scale for Recently Promoted Teachers

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is set to revise the salary scale for nearly 36,000 teachers who were recently promoted following a comprehensive vetting process.

The vetting considered several factors, including the duration of service at the current grade, performance reviews, regional balance, and teacher ratings from the Teacher Performance and Appraisal Development (TPAD) system.

The successful candidates have been notified of their promotions through official letters confirming their new status.

These promotions come with new pay scales and benefits, which will be applied retroactively from March 2024, leading to a significant salary increase for the promoted teachers.

Breakdown

Among the beneficiaries are 1,341 Deputy Principals I in T-Scale 13 (D3), who will now receive a basic pay of Sh104,644 per month, along with higher leave and commuter allowances.

Additionally, 1,096 Deputy Principals II in T-Scale 12 (D2) will receive increased salaries and benefits, including housing and commuting allowances.

Deputy Principals III in T-Scale 11 (D1) and Senior Lecturers I in T-Scale 12 (D2) will also see increases in their monthly pay and allowances.

Head Teachers in T-Scale 10 (C5) and Curriculum Support Officers in T-Scale 10 (C5) will benefit from higher pay and additional benefits as well.

Senior Masters IV in T-Scale 9 (C4), Deputy Head Teachers II in T-Scale 9 (C4), and Senior Lecturers IV in T-Scale 9 (C4) will receive pay increases and higher allowances as part of their promotion advantages.
