TSC to Develop Database and Standardized Application Process for Overseas Teaching Jobs.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has unveiled a policy to streamline international teaching opportunities for Kenyan teachers.
This policy aims to maintain a comprehensive and updated database, establish a standard application process, and ensure continuous improvement based on user feedback.
The TSC plans to develop a centralized database that will enable real-time data entry, storage, and retrieval of teacher information. The database will include:
- Teacher Details: Personal information, academic and professional qualifications, and areas of expertise.
- Host Country Information: Data on international teaching destinations and relevant conditions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Support for evaluating the pool of available teachers and generating reports for decision-making.

Access to this database will be restricted to authorized personnel to ensure data security.
“The commission will establish a database that supports real-time data entry, storage, and retrieval of information about teachers that includes personal details, academic and professional qualifications, areas of expertise, host country and any relevant information. The database will also assist in data analysis and reporting,” the document reads.
TSC Standardized Application Process
To make international job applications more efficient, the TSC will create a standardized system. Teachers will be able to upload their credentials and indicate their interest in international positions.
This system will ensure fairness and consistency in matching teachers to opportunities abroad based on predetermined criteria.
A feedback mechanism will be integrated into the database to allow teachers to share their experiences with the registration and matching processes. Insights from the feedback will guide improvements to the system.
