TSC Transfers 23 Secondary School Principals in Murang’a County: Full List

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has implemented a reshuffling exercise, appointing 23 new principals to schools across Murang’a County. The exercise is part of an initiative to enhance educational management and align leadership with institutional needs.
Affected Schools and Key Transfers
The reshuffle impacts several schools, including Njumbi, Nyagatugu, Ngurwe-ini, Kiarathe, Rwathia Girls, Gititu, and Wahundura, among others.
Fredrick Murage, previously heading Njumbi Boys, has been transferred to Othaya Boys in Nyeri, replacing Edward Waititu, who now takes over leadership at Nyagatugu Secondary in Kangema, Murang’a. Paul Chira Gachoka, formerly the principal of Kanjuri High in Karatina, Nyeri County, will succeed Murage at Njumbi Boys.
Peter Mwangi, the outgoing principal of Ngurwe-ini Secondary in Kandara, moves to Gititu Secondary in Ithanga, replacing John Kimemia. Mwangi’s position at Ngurwe-ini will be filled by Peter Muiruri, previously from Kamirithu Secondary in Kiambu County.
Lucy Muriithi has been appointed as the new principal of Rwathia Girls, taking over from Fresia Wangui. Leonard Maingi, the outgoing principal of Kiamuruga Secondary in Kirinyaga, has been transferred to Mugoiri Day Secondary School.

Additionally, Irungu Wangui, previously at Gatuanyaga Mixed in Thika East, will now head Ikundu Secondary in Murang’a South.

Handing Over Process
Murang’a County Director of Education Annie Kiilu has directed that the handing over in the affected schools will occur between December 31 and January 6, 2025. This process will be overseen by sub-county directors to ensure a smooth transition.

In Gatundu North Sub-county, John Gakuya, the principal of Kanjuku Secondary, has been transferred to Mihang’o Secondary. These changes reflect TSC’s commitment to strengthening school leadership across the region.
