Catherine Mwenda, Nyamira County TSC Director, affirmed that the transfers were normal.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) transferred certain principals in Kisii and Nyamira counties a few days before schools resumed for the second term.

Deputy Principal Gerald Ayiera has been acting principal for Cardinal Otunga since his departure last month.
Kennedy Onduso, the new principal of Orogare Secondary School, previously led Ichuni Mixed Secondary School in Kenyenya Sub-county before moving to Bomet County.

Another affected principal is the one at Nyaisa Secondary School in Nyamira County, who has been transferred to Kiamabundu Secondary School in Kisii.
According to sources, Nyaisa Secondary School’s parents have challenged the transfer and filed a lawsuit to stop it, claiming that he has had a significant impact on the institution, increasing enrollment from 200 to 800 students.
