University of Nairobi Lecturer Found Dead at His Residence.

The University of Nairobi community is in mourning following the untimely death of one of its lecturers, Samuel Owino Mwanda, who passed away on Thursday, September 19.

Mwanda was found dead at his residence in Karachuonyo Sub County, Homa Bay.

His body was discovered hanging from a tree, raising suspicions of a possible suicide.

One of his workers came upon the tragic scene and promptly alerted the villagers and local authorities.

Incident Timeline

Reports indicate that the incident occurred just hours after Mwanda had arrived from Nairobi.

Witnesses revealed that he had shared a meal with his workers that evening, preparing for a return trip to Nairobi later that night.

Homa Bay County Police Commander Hassan Barua confirmed the sequence of events and added that the lecturer’s final hours were spent with his staff.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is ongoing.
