TSC Addresses Ksh.7M Pension Fraud Allegations Linked to Faked Death Incident.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) on Thursday dismissed claims made by a former teacher, alleging that his pension was stolen by fraudulent relatives under the commission’s supervision.
In a formal statement, the Commission indicated that it had reviewed the teacher’s grievances and carried out an initial investigation, which determined that the teacher was dismissed from service in 2012. This dismissal rendered him ineligible for pension payments.
TSC clarified that their records show no indication of the teacher’s death or the processing of any pension claims.
This explanation was prompted by the circulation of a viral video in which the teacher expressed frustration over the situation, leading to widespread outrage among Kenyans.
Teacher’s Claims of Fraud
In the viral video, the teacher alleged that his identity was stolen and his death faked in an elaborate plot that resulted in the theft of his pension.
He recounted that the incident occurred after he was hospitalised in 2012, during which time two individuals posing as his sons were involved in the scheme.
According to him, the fraudsters exploited burial and death certificates to carry out the deception, with the alleged involvement of high-ranking government officials.

Accusations Against TSC
The teacher claimed that despite numerous attempts to seek assistance from TSC, the Commission had not acted on his complaints.
He described his hospitalisation in 2012 and the subsequent realization that someone posing as his son had registered himself as the next of kin.
The teacher alleged that the fraudsters managed to withdraw Ksh7 million from his pension account, money that was supposed to support his family following his departure from the service.
Loss of Pension Funds
The teacher further asserted that the fraudsters had officially declared him dead using burial permits and a death certificate placed in his file, allowing them to siphon his pension funds.
