TSC Directs School heads to Promptly File New Teachers’ Casualties for Timely Salary Payments
School heads were advised to promptly file new teachers’ casualties to ensure timely salary payments and avoid overpayments.
TSC officials at the conference stressed the importance of principals providing necessary information about teachers posted to their schools to process house, municipal, and hardship allowances on time.
Newly employed teachers must report to their assigned duty stations within two weeks of their posting date.
Following this, the institution head is responsible for immediately submitting a Casualty Return to the TSC headquarters.
Salary Processing Delays
Staggered commencement of duty can lead to delays in processing teachers’ salaries. Not all recruits start at the same time, which can affect the administrative processes for salary distribution.
Ms. Macharia emphasized that failing to report a teacher’s movement through the exit-entry module and updating the data on TMIS deprives that tutor of service.
