The program will culminate on July 20th with the official launch of the FIFA Women’s Football campaign in Embu County, making it the third county to implement this program.

This initiative is being overseen by Embu County’s CEC for Youth, Sports, Culture, and Social Services, General Roger, along with FKF Embu Chairman Charles Njagi.

This campaign aims to enhance the skills of school team coaches, particularly from primary schools. Embu is set to become the third county to implement this program.

The teachers are receiving guidance from Coach Educators Musano and Jaclyn Juma during the training period.

The course was officially opened by Embu County’s CEC for Youth, Gender, Sports, Culture, and Social Services, Jen Wara, alongside the FKF Embu Chairman, Charles Ngi.

The program targets players and school team coaches from primary schools, focusing on enhancing their coaching skills and fostering early football education.

The coaching course aims to build capacity among school team coaches, ensuring they can provide proper football education from an early stage.

This initiative is part of a global effort to increase female participation in football, challenging the long-standing association of the sport with men.

Jen Wara emphasized that women and girls, alongside boys, can excel in football and other fields, and the presence of both male and female coaches will encourage more balanced participation.

The training program has been welcomed with enthusiasm by the local community and the county government, which has provided facilities and support. Wara expressed gratitude to the national office and the county government for their partnership and for facilitating the training program.

The FIFA Women’s Football campaign is seen as a significant step towards creating equal opportunities for both genders in sports. It aims to send a clear message to society about gender equality in football, encouraging more girls to participate and showcasing their abilities.
