Abolishing NG-CDF Will Shift Fee Burden to Parents – Ndindi Nyoro.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has expressed concerns about the potential consequences of terminating the National Government-Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
He stated that ending the fund would increase the financial burden on parents, especially regarding school fees.
Citing his own constituency as an example, he mentioned that day school students in Kiharu pay only Sh1,000 due to the support of the CDF.
Nyoro urged the High Court to reconsider its decision, arguing that without the CDF, parents would be left to shoulder the costs of school fees and infrastructure development.
High Court Ruling on NG-CDF
The High Court ruled on Friday that the NG-CDF Act of 2015 is unconstitutional. The ruling came from Justices Kanyi Kimondo, Mugure Thande, and Roselyne Aburili, who stated that all activities under the fund must cease by June 30, 2026.
The fund, which has been operational since 2003, was acknowledged for its contributions to communities in 290 constituencies.

The judges acknowledged that the fund supports various short, medium, and long-term projects, many of which are already in progress.
Despite finding the NG-CDF Act unconstitutional, they concluded that an abrupt termination would not be in the nation’s best interest. Hence, they set a deadline for the cessation of the fund’s operations by mid-2026.
Call for Prayers
Alongside his call for the reconsideration of the ruling, Nyoro also urged Kenyans, both locally and globally, to pray for the country, its leadership, and its citizens.
He emphasized that prayer is essential in navigating the political landscape, encouraging people not to passively watch events unfold but to actively participate through prayer.
