The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) announced plans to raise the salaries of newly promoted teachers.

According to TSC, payroll preparation is already underway for the 36,504 educators who were recently promoted.

This set of teachers’ compensation will improve after they are moved from one grade to another.

Eighty percent of the instructors who were promoted to different grades (C2 to D5) through Advert Nos. 46/2023 to 69/2023 stayed in their current positions, according to the commission.

The commission aims to finish updating the teachers on its payroll by June 15, 2024. It is important to note that all promotions have to be effected on the payroll on or before this date.

The temporary director of human resource management and development, M.A. Sango, has signed a memo dated today that directs all unit heads to ensure they have finished at least 75% of the cases that are due by the end of May.

Sango emphasized the need to expedite the increase in promotion IPPD Authorized Data Capture Sheets due to the stringent timelines.

This will allow the commission to advance at least 75% of the cases that are due by the end of May 2024 paycheck.

Every officer will be required to make changes to at least fifty (50) IPPD Authorized Data Capture Sheets each day.

The letter also recommended that the unit heads locate additional Data Capture in order to handle the volume of instances that are updated daily.
