Co-Curricular Activities to Resume After Half-Term Break; School Calendar
The Ministry of Education has announced that co-curricular activities will begin immediately after schools resume from their half-term break.
According to the official schedule, schools will commence their half-term on 26th February 2025, with the break starting on 25th February 2025 and ending on 2nd March 2025.
Age Restrictions for Participation
This year, the Ministry has introduced stricter age limits for students participating in co-curricular activities to ensure fairness and safety. Primary, junior, and secondary schools will host separate outdoor events.
For primary schools, only students under the age of twelve are eligible to participate. In junior secondary schools, students must be below fifteen years old, while secondary school participants are required to be under eighteen years old.
The Ministry emphasized that the age restrictions aim to protect younger students from injuries that may result from competing with older, more physically mature participants.
Previously, the Ministry had lifted similar restrictions following protests from schools, but they have now been reinstated as a precautionary measure.
