HELB Issues 10 Loan Application Requirements For First-Time Applicants
The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has announced the opening of its application portal, urging all eligible candidates, particularly teachers, to apply for the available funds.
The board emphasized the importance of taking advantage of this opportunity before the deadline.
In their statement, HELB provided a detailed list of requirements for a successful application. Applicants need a valid email address and telephone number to begin the process.
They must also have their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) index numbers and the corresponding years of examination.
A passport-size photo in jpeg, jpg, or png format is necessary, along with a copy of the applicant’s National Identification card or Maisha card, both sides in PDF format.
HELB also requires valid bank details or an MPESA number registered under the applicant’s name and ID number for fund disbursement.
For applicants under 18, a birth certificate in PDF format can substitute the ID requirement. Those who were sponsored in secondary school need to provide a sponsorship letter in PDF format.
CS Machogu also informed parents, guardians, and students that the results of the funding applications would be announced on July 31, 2024.
