KUCCPS Reopens TVET Applications for Unplaced Students: How to Apply

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened its placement portal to enable applications for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.

This opportunity is available for students from the 2000 to 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) cohort who were unable to secure a course during the previous application process.

KUCCPS stated that eligible candidates can now apply for placement in Artisan, Craft, and Diploma courses at public TVET institutions. They emphasized that students wishing to enroll in a TVET institution this September can now submit their applications for these programs.

Application Details

To apply, students need to log into the KUCCPS portal using their credentials, which include their KCSE index number, KCSE year, and password.

The initial password is either the birth certificate number or the KCSE index number.

Upon logging in, applicants should select four courses they wish to pursue, ranking them in order of preference, with the first being the most desired and the fourth being the least.

Once selections are made, applicants must submit their choices through the portal.

KUCCPS has given a three-week window for candidates to make their course selections. This application period will run alongside the inter-institutional transfer process.

Step-by-Step Application Process

  1. Access the Student Portal
    Go to the KUCCPS student portal at students.kuccps.net.
  2. Log In
    • Use your KCSE index number, KCSE year, and password.
    • For first-time users, the password is your birth certificate number or KCSE index number.
  3. Select Courses
    • Choose four courses and rank them by preference.
    • Ensure your selections are from government institutions.
  4. Submit Application
    • Review your choices and submit your application.
