KUPPET Criticizes TSC for Withholding Union Dues, Calls It Illegal and Disruptive.
KUPPET’s Nairobi Branch officials have publicly condemned the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for withholding union dues for the past three months, a situation that began in August.
Speaking at a workshop in Nairobi, Branch Executive Secretary Moses Bomara emphasized the severe consequences of TSC’s actions.
Moses Bomara warned that the failure to remit union dues threatens the deal that resolved the recent nationwide teachers’ strike, labeling the move as a form of victimization against KUPPET members.

He highlighted the financial struggles the union is facing as a result, including repossession of properties by banks, inability to pay staff salaries, and difficulty covering administrative expenses.
“We have suffered enough. Our properties are being being repossessed by Banks from which we took loans”
“we are not capable of paying rent, we are not capable of servicing our loans,” Moses Bomara said.

He stressed that even loan repayments have become impossible.
The KUPPET official directly called out the TSC, describing the withholding of dues as both a disservice and illegal, urging immediate corrective action.
