Nakuru County Disburses Sh11.5 Million in Bursaries to Over 5,500 Students in Molo Sub-county.
The County government of Nakuru has allocated Sh11.5 million in bursaries, benefitting over 5,500 students across various learning institutions in Molo sub-county.
This initiative is part of the county’s broader efforts to enhance access to education for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Education, Zipporah Ngugi, emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to access education.
Ngugi reiterated that the bursary initiative aligns with Governor Susan Kihika’s vision of equitable access to quality education for all. The move, she explained, is a crucial step in reducing barriers for students whose families face financial hardships.
During the bursary launch event at Molo Secondary School, Ngugi highlighted the importance of parental and guardian involvement.
She noted that the availability of such funds should motivate parents and guardians to apply, especially when financial constraints hinder their ability to pay school fees. The program has previously proven successful in supporting numerous students.
Beneficiaries and Their Responsibilities
The bursaries will benefit students from Marioshoni, Turi, Elburgon, and Molo Wards. Ngugi urged the beneficiaries to seize this opportunity by dedicating themselves to their academic pursuits. She reminded them that hard work and focus are essential in achieving their life aspirations.

- ICT Integration: Introducing Information Communication Technology into the ECDE curriculum to improve learning outcomes.
