Offer letters for Qatar Job Recruitment ready, Says Govt
The government has published a list of 72 Kenyans who applied for jobs in Qatar through the National Job Recruitment Programme but failed to provide their contact details.
The Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary reported that the processing of documents and contracts for successful applicants is progressing efficiently, with departures imminent.
The Cabinet Secretary stated that the 72 individuals have secured jobs in Qatar, but recruiting agencies cannot reach them to notify them about the signing of their offer letters.
He urged the affected individuals to visit the KICC on Monday for signing their letters and travel processing.
Pre-Departure Training and Instructions
The Cabinet Secretary also addressed pre-departure orientation and training for successful candidates who have already signed their offer letters. The training is scheduled for Saturday, November 30, at KICC, Nairobi, beginning at 8 a.m. Candidates were informed of their training sessions in advance.
He clarified that only those who have signed their offer letters should attend the training. For those who have passed the recruitment process but have not signed their letters, arrangements will be made for a future session.

He urged such candidates to visit the designated location on Monday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., to complete the necessary procedures, including medical checks.
Status of Applicants Awaiting Communication
For applicants who provided contact details but have not received notification, the Cabinet Secretary explained that their offer letters are still under processing in Qatar.
He reassured them that they would be contacted as soon as their documents are ready.
The government temporarily halted the overseas job recruitment programme on Wednesday, November 27, to assess the progress and process the applications received so far.
The Cabinet Secretary stated that this pause would allow for a review of critical documentation, such as passports and certificates of good conduct, ensuring all necessary processes are completed before resuming recruitment.
Progress and County Statistics
Speaking in Nyandarua County, the Cabinet Secretary revealed that since the programme’s launch on November 20, 5,931 Kenyans had secured job opportunities abroad.
He assured successful applicants that they would be contacted by Wednesday of the following week, with a new schedule for the exercise set to be announced after Jamhuri Day.
The exercise, which covered six counties before its suspension, saw Nakuru leading in registrations with 2,516 applicants. It was followed by Nyandarua (925), Kitui (901), Machakos (752), Baringo (640), and Makueni (410).
The Cabinet Secretary expressed optimism about extending the recruitment drive to all 47 counties to ensure more Kenyans benefit from the initiative.
