PSC Announces 6,673 Shortlisted Candidates for Internship Interviews.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has revealed the shortlist of candidates for government internship positions advertised in August 2024.

This initiative, targeting Cohort 7 applicants, offers a 12-month, non-renewable internship across various government ministries, departments, and agencies.

The programme aims to provide graduates with essential work experience and bridge the gap between education and the workplace.

Recruitment and Application Process

On August 13, PSC advertised positions under the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP) for the 2024/2025 financial year. Applicants were required to meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • Have graduated no earlier than 2018.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) skills.

Candidates were instructed to submit their applications online via the PSC job portal by September 2, 2024.

Announcement of Shortlisted Candidates

In a notice issued on Monday, November 18, PSC announced that interviews for 6,673 shortlisted candidates would occur between Wednesday, November 20, and Friday, November 22, 2024. These interviews will be conducted via telephone from 8:30 am on the specified dates.

Applicants were directed to visit the PSC website, www.publicservice.go.ke, to check the list of shortlisted candidates.

Interview Guidelines

Shortlisted candidates must have the following original documents during the interviews:

  1. National Identity Card or Passport.
  2. Academic and professional certificates.

PSC clarified that all interviews would be conducted remotely via mobile phones to streamline the process.

About the Internship Programme

The PSC internship programme, initiated in 2019, aims to enhance graduates’ transition to the workforce. It provides practical exposure in government operations while offering a monthly stipend of approximately Ksh25,000.
