School Heads Asked to Remain in School to Receive Grade 9 Textbooks During Holiday Break.

Education CS Migos Ogamba states that that the Ministry has made significant progress in preparing educational resources for Grade 9. Textbooks for the new grade level have already been published, with distribution starting in October.

To ensure readiness, the Ministry instructed school principals and deputies to remain available during the school break to receive these books, facilitating a one-to-one textbook ratio by the term’s start.

“We have asked principals and deputies to remain at school to receive these books during the break so that the one-to-one textbook ratio is achieved,” he stated.

During his visit to the Kabete Deputy County Commissioner’s Office, Ogamba oversaw the distribution of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers.

This supervision comes as KCSE exams near completion, with the Ministry implementing additional security measures to safeguard exam integrity.

Ogamba emphasized the Ministry’s dedication to upholding the credibility of this year’s examinations.

Crackdown on Examination Malpractice

Ogamba also spoke on exam integrity, disclosing multiple arrests in Siaya and Eldoret of individuals allegedly involved in attempting to interfere with the KCSE exams.

He explained that once investigations conclude, the Ministry would reveal details about the cartels involved and pursue legal action to hold perpetrators accountable.

This statement reaffirms the Ministry’s commitment to enforcing the law against exam malpractice.

“I want to inform Kenyans that once the investigations and the arrests are done, we will be able to reveal the extent of the cartels that are involved in these particular attempts and proceed with the prosecutions and ensure that whoever is involved faces the full force of the law,” Ogamba said.
