Schools to Resume as Scheduled, Despite Teachers’ Strike Plans – Education CS Ogamba
The Kenyan Government has reassured citizens that public schools will reopen for the third term on Monday, 26th August, as planned.
This announcement follows ongoing negotiations between the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and teachers’ unions aimed at preventing a potential strike.
The TSC initiated discussions with the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) in response to the unions’ grievances.
These talks are part of efforts to address the concerns raised by the teachers and to ensure the smooth reopening of schools.
