TSC Gets KSh 18 Billion as President Ruto Assents to Supplementary Budget.
President William Ruto has enacted the Supplementary Budget II for the 2024/25 financial year, injecting an additional KSh 113 billion into various ministries. This funding is expected to enhance ongoing reforms, with a particular emphasis on education.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has been granted KSh 18 billion to cover teacher promotions, insurance, and salary-related gaps.
Furthermore, university education has received KSh 16 billion, while KSh 8 billion has been designated for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The School Feeding Programme has been allocated KSh 600 million.
The healthcare sector has benefited significantly from this budget. KSh 1.5 billion has been assigned to recapitalise the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA), while the Primary Healthcare Fund and the Emergency, Chronic, and Critical Illness Fund have each received KSh 3 billion. Additionally, KSh 1.5 billion has been allocated to support healthcare interns.
Agriculture and Infrastructure Support
Agriculture has also received a boost, with KSh 6.6 billion set aside for subsidised fertiliser. Other allocations include KSh 1.2 billion for County Aggregation and Industrial Parks, KSh 3.7 billion for the Equalisation Fund, and KSh 370 million to assist landless individuals in acquiring settlements.

The government has also provided KSh 1 billion for Thwake Dam and KSh 700 million to New KCC to enhance milk collection and processing.
These financial allocations highlight the government’s dedication to strengthening key sectors and fostering national development. The additional funding is expected to support critical services and improve economic growth across various industries.
