Factors Influencing Teachers’ Salary Grades
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) determines teachers’ salary grades based on various factors, including years of service, performance appraisals, and engagement in co-curricular activities. Additionally, the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) periodically reviews salary increments for teachers, considering several key elements.
SRC is responsible for salary adjustments and increments, which are influenced by multiple factors. These include academic qualifications, duration of service, job grade, additional responsibilities such as administrative roles, work location (whether rural, urban, or hardship areas), and the nature of students, with teachers handling learners with special needs receiving extra allowances.
