TSC Regional Director Selected for SRC Role.
President William Ruto has nominated Jane Gatakaa Njage, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Nyanza Regional Director, as a Commissioner for the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
She will represent the TSC, which serves as the teachers’ employer, in this role. Njage, from Embu County, was among 11 candidates interviewed for the position on June 20, 2024, at the TSC headquarters in Upper Hill, Nairobi. The position had been advertised in March 2024.

- Ibrahim Mumin – TSC’s long-serving Director of Administrative Services
- Kahi Indimuli – Immediate former National Chairman of the Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA)

- Ambrose Ageng’a – Homa Bay County
- Joseph Muthama Ndiku – Machakos County

On November 12, 2024, President Ruto issued a notice finalizing the SRC nominations, appointing Sammy Chepkwony as the Chairperson. Other appointed members to the SRC included representatives from various institutions:

- Mohammed Aden – County Governments
- Leonid Ashindu – Association of Professional Societies in East Africa
- Dr. Gilda Odera – Federation of Kenya Employers
