TSC Registration and Employment Status: How to Check Online
Many teachers are overjoyed after successfully applying for a TSC employment position. However, anxiety arises when trying to ascertain the job’s completion status. Fortunately, you do not have to wait for feedback from TSC headquarters.
You can quickly check your TSC employment status online. You only need your identification card number or passport.
Many teachers seeking government employment faced significant pay disparities prior to the establishment of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
As a result, in July 1967, an Act of Parliament established the TSC to regulate teachers’ concerns. Since then, the recruitment process has proceeded smoothly, resulting in the professional hiring of teachers.
TSC occasionally advertises promotion opportunities for teachers. The commission provides an online application system that allows you to apply for any position that meets your qualifications.
The online system also allows you to track your recruiting status, which includes every stage of the process up to your appointment. Once you’ve submitted your online application, it’s important to verify your shortlist status.
Teachers Service Commission
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is an independent government organisation established under Kenya’s Constitution to manage human resources in education. The commission’s headquarters are in Nairobi, with offices located throughout the counties.
The Teachers Service Commission mandates all qualified teachers to get a registration certificate before teaching in any public or private institution.
Teachers who complete the conditions for registration will get a certificate of registration with a TSC number within 30 days. Furthermore, the names of all registered teachers are published annually.
Before you can check your TSC online system registration status, you must first register with the TSC site. You must complete all of the TSC’s required information, scan, and submit any supporting papers (original copies). Some of the required documents are:
- Certified copies of academic and professional certifications.
- Bank slip.
- One passport-sized photo.
- KRA Pin.
- Certificate of Good Conduct.
- A national ID card.
- GP69 Form.
- Non-Kenyans can obtain entry and employment permits.
- It is important to remember that when registering, you must pay a non-refundable charge of Ksh 1,060 using direct or easy banking. However, if you apply for a duplicate certificate, you must deposit Ksh 2,060.
TSC’s recruitment procedure begins when it advertises open positions on its portal. Candidates who desire to apply for these opportunities must complete the application form correctly and accurately and submit it online.
How to Check TSC Employment Status Online
The TSC web portal gives you access to all services, from the application process to the last stage of employment.
It is important to remember that TSC does not accept manual applications or require any fees when applying for a job. Here are a few procedures for checking TSC job status.
- First, use an internet-enabled device to access the TSC web portal. Using a desktop or laptop computer is recommended.
- Next, select ‘Registration Status‘ as shown in the popup.
- Enter your ID or passport number and click ‘Search’. You will receive a confirmation of your application status.
- What does “verified TSC status” mean?
- After applying for a TSC registration number, the status changes over time. A validated TSC status indicates that the employment application has been reviewed by the Commission.
Aside from the verified status, you may obtain additional signs, such as:
In Progress: This status indicates that the commission has received the application at the register but has not yet handled it.
Registered: This is the final stage of a successful application. The portal displays the TSC number. In addition, the applicant receives an SMS message.
Reset: This status signifies an error that requires repair. The issue is noted both on the portal and in a text message to the applicant.
Incomplete: This indicates that you have not completed or submitted the application.
Refused: An application is refused when the applicant does not meet the requirements to be registered as a qualified teacher, particularly if they do not meet the minimal academic qualification.
Why TSC Refuses Your Application
In rare cases, the commission may refuse your application. It is quite upsetting to receive such a notification. As a result, it is critical to be aware of the grounds that may cause TSC to deny an applicant’s request. They include:
- Having a history of mental illness that prevents you from performing the duties of a teacher as mandated by the commission.
- Possessing a questionable moral character. For example, suppose you were convicted of a sexual offence or an offence against a learner.
- Having a criminal record with the Criminal Investigation Department renders you unsuitable to teach.
- Having a record of engaging in prejudiced acts that violate the Kenyan constitution.
- Lack of the necessary academic and professional credentials.
The commission offers its members the option to verify their varied TSC job status online with a few clicks. The commission submits almost all employment and job applications online. All you need to do is learn more about TSC’s online offerings.
