TSC Updated CBA Allowances for Every Job Group (2024–2025).
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) periodically revises allowances provided to teachers under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
The updated allowances for 2024–2025 reflect teachers’ job groups, workstations, responsibilities, and special needs. Below is a detailed breakdown of the revised allowances.
Overview of TSC Allowances
TSC ensures teachers receive various allowances in addition to their monthly salaries. These allowances are influenced by factors such as:
- Job Grade: Higher grades attract more allowances.
- Workstation: Remote and challenging areas qualify for specific benefits.
- Responsibilities: Leadership and administrative roles receive extra compensation.
- Special Needs: Teachers working with special-needs children or those with disabilities are eligible for additional support.

While most allowances are disbursed monthly, others depend on specific circumstances or are reimbursed upon application.
Types of Allowances
1. Remunerative Allowances
These allowances are either automatically paid or available upon application:

- Hardship Allowance: Paid to teachers in arid or semi-arid areas.
- Leave Allowance: Given annually, equivalent to one month’s basic pay.
b. Application-Based Allowances
- Medical Allowance: No longer paid directly to teachers. Contributions are directed to Minet Insurance and NHIF.
