TSC Urges JSS Teachers to Integrate ICT into Learning
Fredrick Chimoyi, the Director of Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for Loitoktok Sub County, has called upon Junior School teachers to accelerate the integration of ICT into their teaching methodologies.
This call was made during a recent four-day workshop held at AIC Girls, Loitoktok, where Chimoyi emphasized the critical role of ICT not only in enhancing teaching effectiveness but also in equipping students with essential ICT skills.
Chimoyi urged teachers to become proficient in using ICT tools such as virtual learning platforms, digital cameras, and smartphones to enrich their teaching approaches.
He advised them to create ICT-integrated lessons using online resources, social media platforms, or their own materials to enhance the learning experience of their students.
In addition, Chimoyi directed teachers to access educational materials from the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development’s (KICD) Open Education Resource as a way to supplement their teaching resources.
Peter Bitah, the Director of Education for Loitoktok Sub County, stressed the importance of Junior School education and encouraged teachers to embrace ongoing changes in the education sector.
He emphasized the need for teachers to continuously update their skills through training and to remain committed to their professional development.
Bitah highlighted that the purpose of this workshop was to equip teachers with the knowledge necessary for effective Junior School education, emphasizing training, mentorship, and practical experience as crucial components.
