CS Machogu Denies Distributing TSC Employment Letters at Public Rallies
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has denied charges that he distributes teacher employment letters while attending public events in the Kisii region.
Mochogu was responding to requests from Trans-Nzoia County Assembly members to distribute letters to unemployed teachers in the region.
Machogu emphasized that the Teachers Service Commission has the authority to hire teachers, not him. He asserted that the stories circulating on social media, alleging otherwise, are untrue.

“I want to set the record straight that the mandate of hiring teachers is bestowed on the Teachers Service Commission and not me.” Machogu asserted that the stories circulating on social media are false.
“Every County Director of Education and every TSC Director should ensure that no student is sent home on account of school fees balance,” stated the Cabinet Secretary.

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya criticized some of the region’s principals for sending students home due to a lack of meal fee balance, which was harming the pupils’ studying.
According to Governor Natembeya, the government typically disburses capitation funds for schools, but schools come up with exorbitant meal charges to exploit parents.
