Collins Kipchumba Kemboi, a notorious fraudster widely sought for his involvement in the 2024 KCSE exam cheating scandal, was arrested today in Nakuru’s Kiamunyi area.
At just 23 years old, Kemboi had been operating under the alias Dorothy Jerop Kiprono, amassing a large following of over 78,000 users on Telegram and more than 8,500 participants in his WhatsApp groups, all seeking access to leaked exam materials.
In a concerted effort to clamp down on the widespread exam malpractice, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) linked to the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), along with local detectives from Nakuru County, launched a targeted operation.
The officers apprehended Kemboi in his residence, likening the arrest to cornering a trapped criminal.
Seizure of Key Evidence
Without needing an extensive search, officers discovered Kemboi with his equipment in plain sight.
