Government Announces Internship Program for 2018 Graduates
The government has announced plans to offer internships to unemployed youth across the country, beginning in September this year.
This initiative, spearheaded by the Public Service Commission (PSC), will provide opportunities in various ministries, departments, and agencies, offering a valuable stepping stone for recent graduates seeking work experience.
Internship Programme Details
The internships will be part of the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP), as outlined by the PSC’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Simon Rotich.
This marks the seventh cohort under the 2024/2025 programme, aiming to engage youth who have struggled to secure employment since graduation.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized university.
- Must have graduated no earlier than 2018.
- Must possess proficiency in computer skills.
Internship Duration and Benefits
The selected interns will be employed for one year, during which they will receive a stipend, the amount of which will be determined by the government in line with PSC guidelines. Upon successful completion of the programme, the interns will be awarded certificates.
