Government Announces Senior Management Vacancies in Kenyan Public Universities.

The government has announced openings in senior management positions across four public universities.

On November 25, the Public Service Commission (PSC) advertised vacancies at the Open University of Kenya, MultiMedia University of Kenya, Kenyatta University, and Meru University of Science and Technology.

At the Open University of Kenya, the PSC seeks applicants for the Vice Chancellor position and two Deputy Vice-Chancellor positions (Academic Affairs and Planning and Infrastructure).

The MultiMedia University of Kenya has openings for two Deputy Vice-Chancellor positions, one for Academic Affairs, Research, and Innovation, and another for Administration, Finance, and Planning.

Similarly, Kenyatta University and Meru University of Science and Technology are looking to fill Deputy Vice-Chancellor positions in Administration and Finance, and Administration, Finance, and Planning, respectively.

Teaching Positions

In addition to the senior management roles, the government has announced 38 vacancies at the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), divided into teaching and administrative categories.

Teaching vacancies (18 positions):

• Lecturer: 10 positions
• Senior Lecturer: 4 positions
• Associate Professor: 3 positions
• Tutorial Fellow: 1 position

These positions are available in disciplines such as:

• Communication Studies
• Social and Clinical Sciences
• Management Science
• Hospitality and Tourism
• Engineering (Medical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical)
• Maritime and Seafaring (Tutorial Fellow position)

Administrative Positions

• Procurement
• Office Administration
• Nursing Office
