KMTC Extends Application Deadline for Assistive Technology Program Scholarships
The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and supported by ATscale and other global partners, has announced an extension for the application deadline for the Assistive Technology (AT) Program scholarships.
This initiative offers a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals in Kenya to enhance their skills and knowledge in rehabilitation and assistive technology.
Scholarship Overview
The scholarships are available for the September 2024 intake and cover five specialized program areas aimed at advancing careers in rehabilitation.
These programs are fully funded and will be conducted on a full-time basis over two years at KMTC.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarships, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be employees of a County Government within the Republic of Kenya.
- Have at least two years of work experience at a county health facility (CRH or SCRH).
- Be registered with the respective regulatory body for their basic training.
- Have secured approval and release from the county.
Selection Process
The selection process for the scholarships involves several steps:
- Reauthorization: Candidates must obtain reauthorization from their employer during the application process.
- Shortlisting and Interviewing: The training institution will conduct shortlisting and interviews.
- Selection Committee: The AT program scholarships selection committee will select candidates.
- Admission: Candidates must be admitted by the training institution.
- Release and Bonding: Employers will release and bond candidates as per public service commission guidelines.
- Enrollment: Successful candidates will be enrolled by the training institution.
Scholarship Package
The scholarship covers the following during the study period:
- Tuition Fee: Full coverage of tuition fees.
- Stipend: A stipend to support candidates during their studies.
