KNEC Releases Art and Craft Instructions for 2024 UDPTE and UDECTE Summative Assessments
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has unveiled comprehensive guidelines for conducting the 2024 Upgrade Programmes for Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (UDPTE) and Diploma in Early Childhood in Teacher Education (UDECTE) Summative Assessment in Art and Craft.
The assessment for the year 2024 will encompass two modes: a Theory paper constituting 60% and a Portfolio assessment making up the remaining 40%.
To access the instructions for portfolio assessment, individuals can log into the Teacher Education portal at https://cbate@knec.ac.ke and download the guidelines under the 2024 Art and Craft Assessment section.
Teacher trainers are entrusted with the responsibility of guiding teacher trainees on portfolio organization as per the provided scoring guide. It is imperative to treat all assessment-related documents as confidential.

Adherence to the provided instructions is crucial. Teacher trainers are expected to meticulously interpret the advance guidelines for portfolio assessment and ensure that the outlined procedures are followed accurately. Each trainee is required to compile and maintain a portfolio for assessment.

The assessment is scheduled to commence on May 24, 2024, and conclude by July 10, 2024.

Subsequently, scores must be uploaded online immediately after the assessment period by the respective teacher trainers, with KNEC monitoring the authenticity and progress of all trainee scores.
