KNEC Releases SBA Timetable and Instructions for DPTE: Download
School-Based Assessment (SBA) will be offered by KNEC to Teacher Trainees pursuing the Diploma in Primary Teacher Assessment (DPTE) who have been registered by their various colleges.
Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) will use their given college username and password to log in to the KNEC portal at https://cbate.knec.ac.ke and access the tools.
Colleges will be able to download and use the DPTE SBA subjects with a project or practical component and their accompanying instructions on the KNEC portal (https://cbate.knec.ac.ke). , 2024, written tests will be given through the CBATE e-assessment system.
The KNEC e-assessment site can only be accessed by Teacher Trainees who have been approved by the Center Managers.
The Teacher Trainers must follow the instructions in the scoring/marking guides when they grade the tests.

Along with the evaluation tools, scoring guides or marking schemes for learning areas that include Project and Practical parts will be uploaded.
By August 2, 2024, TTCs must put the teacher trainees’ project and practical exam scores in the CBATE portal. The scores for the agriculture project must be posted by November 30, 2024.
Principals are asked to keep accurate records of all the results of all the trainees’ tests.
As much as possible, the items needed for the assessment tasks should be found around the college or just made up on the spot.

Teacher candidates must be in the assessment room thirty minutes before the time set for the tests on the different papers. A teacher trainee will not receive grading if they arrive more than 30 minutes late. in on time, no matter what.
