According to Acting CEO Peter Muhindi, the festival is an integral part of equipping hospitality students with practical experience and exposure. It aims to prepare them for successful careers in the hospitality industry, both within Kenya and abroad.

“We send our faculty members to the villages to explore and gather traditional recipes, which we bring to the Gastronomy space. This effort is not only to preserve our cultural heritage but also to position Kenya as a gastronomy destination,” Muhindi explained.

He further encouraged students to embrace gastronomy as a viable and promising career path.

The event also provided students with hands-on experience in various aspects of event planning, including budgeting, financial management, and execution. The initiative is designed to ensure graduates are well-prepared for the demands of the industry.
