TPAD 2 Portal Guide: Accessing the System and Assessing Teachers as the Appraiser (Deputy Head)

The appraiser, typically the Deputy Principal or Deputy Head Teacher, is responsible for evaluating all TSC teachers at an institution through the new TPAD 2 system portal. As an appraiser, you can examine all completed appraisals that are ready for you to appraise on your dashboard.

To evaluate the teachers, follow the simple steps below:

First, log into your TPAD 2 account. Log in as an appraiser at http://tpad2.tsc.gov.ke.

Click ‘Appraiser Appraisals’, followed by the ‘Pending Appraisals’ tab. All pending appraisee appraisals will show, and the appraiser will click “Proceed to Appraisal” to begin the appraisal process.

To update, the appraisee clicks on “Update Standard” to display the standards.

Next, select “Update Rating.” You will be able to see the appraisee’s weight rating.

On the window that appears, click “Add Weight” to begin rating each criterion. The appraiser should apply performance indicators and verifiable evidence under each aim in the evaluation.

The appraiser should record the weight of each target. Each target’s indicated weight should not exceed the ratings. The appraiser should also identify whether the appraisee has any gaps.

You must record any observations or interventions on the gap in the comment section.

Click the Submit Ratings button.

Now it’s time to leave a comment. Each standard rating includes appraiser remarks. Click the “Save Comment” button to apply the changes. The appraisal saves the appraiser’s comment and prompts the appraiser to proceed to the next standard for rating completion.

Repeat the steps above for all standards.

Finally, once the rating process is over, you are asked to add the final appraisal comment. Click the “Save Comment” button to apply the changes.

To complete the appraisal process, click the “Complete Appraisal” button. It’s worth noting that the tab is dark blue and transforms to purple when clicked.

Return to your dashboard to check if there are any pending appraisals.
