TSC Phase 2 Salary Increase: Some Teachers Yet to Receive Expected Raises
As of now, some teachers have not yet received the expected salary increase for phase 2 under the TSC.
According to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), teachers are set to receive incremental pay raises over two phases across various job groups, in collaboration between teacher employers and union representatives.
The first phase of the CBA, which began in July 2023, is still ongoing, with full implementation anticipated by July 2024.
However, teachers who were not employed during the initial phase in July 2023 may find themselves excluded from the salary increment scheduled for 2024.
The TSC’s salary structure for phase 2 outlines pay increases across different job categories and experience levels among teachers.
This initiative reflects the commission’s commitment to addressing wage disparities and recognizing educators’ significant contributions to the education sector, aiming to enhance motivation and well-being among teachers.
Additionally, approximately 36,500 educators were promoted in 2024 and are currently awaiting assignments to new schools.
Furthermore, over 5,900 teaching positions have been created for individuals with graduate degrees, facilitating their transition to various junior schools across the country.
