KUCCPS Offers Last Opportunity Before Final University Placement.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has outlined the procedure through which students who did not submit their university placement applications within the official application period may request consideration before the release of the final placement results.

In a notice issued to applicants, KUCCPS stated that candidates who missed the placement application deadline may formally seek consideration as late applicants by submitting a request through the agency’s official email address. The agency noted that such requests will be considered before the commencement of the official placement process.

According to KUCCPS, applicants seeking late consideration are required to send an email to info@kuccps.ac.ke requesting to be considered as late applicants. The placement agency directed that each request should include the applicant’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) index number, year of the KCSE examination, full name, telephone number, and email address to facilitate processing.

“Send an email to info@kuccps.ac.ke requesting to be considered as a late applicant. Please include your KCSE index number, year of KCSE exam, name, phone number and email address,” KUCCPS stated.

KUCCPS further clarified that submission of a request for late consideration does not constitute automatic placement and that each application will be subject to consideration by the placement agency.

The announcement comes as KUCCPS finalizes preparations for the release of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) university and college placement results. According to the placement agency, the final placement results are expected to be released during the first week of July 2026.

Upon release of the placement results, successful applicants will be informed of the programmes and institutions to which they have been placed ahead of the September 2026 admission cycle.

KUCCPS also indicated that candidates who may be dissatisfied with either the programme or institution allocated to them during the placement process will have an opportunity to apply for inter-institutional or inter-programme transfers. The agency stated that detailed guidelines governing the transfer process will be communicated after the release of the placement results.

According to KUCCPS, a total of 268,714 candidates who sat the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination attained a minimum mean grade of C+ (Plus), making them eligible for university placement.

The placement agency had earlier reported that, as of 16 May 2026, more than 56,000 eligible candidates had not submitted placement applications. In response, KUCCPS opened a second application window to enable additional eligible candidates to submit applications before the closure of the placement exercise.

KUCCPS continues to coordinate the placement of qualified applicants into universities, colleges, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in accordance with the established placement procedures and admission schedule.
