TSC Inducts 136 Newly Recruited Secretariat Staff.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has commenced a week-long induction programme for 136 newly recruited secretariat staff as part of preparations to enable the officers to undertake their responsibilities within the Commission and the wider public service.
The induction is being conducted in collaboration with the Kenya School of Government (KSG) at the KSG Lower Kabete campus in Nairobi. It brings together senior officers who were competitively recruited earlier this year.
The cohort comprises Assistant Directors, Principal Teacher Management Officers from the teaching service and Senior Management Officers.
The programme is intended to equip the newly recruited officers with knowledge, skills and an understanding of the systems, values and standards required to discharge their responsibilities effectively within the Commission and the public service.
TSC Acting Chief Executive Officer Evaleen Mitei, MBS, attended the third day of the induction programme and congratulated the officers on their successful recruitment.
Mitei stated that the induction programme was an important stage in preparing the officers for their new responsibilities and familiarising them with the expectations associated with public service.
“The main purpose of this programme is to prepare you for your new roles,” Mitei told the officers.
The Acting Chief Executive Officer encouraged the officers to participate fully in the training and use the programme to gain an understanding of the values, systems and standards governing public service.
Mitei also emphasised professionalism and commitment as the newly recruited officers begin their careers at the Commission.
The training provides the officers with an opportunity to familiarise themselves with public service structures, institutional mandates and the responsibilities associated with their respective positions.
The collaboration between the Teachers Service Commission and the Kenya School of Government is intended to strengthen the capacity of the newly appointed officers and support effective service delivery within the Commission.

Mitei congratulated the cohort and urged the officers to undertake their new responsibilities with dedication and a strong commitment to public service.
The induction programme forms part of efforts by the Teachers Service Commission to strengthen its secretariat workforce and enhance institutional capacity in support of the management of Kenya’s teaching service.
Upon completion of the programme, the newly recruited officers are expected to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the induction in their respective areas of responsibility.
